Day 2: Adjusting Back to Day Shifts

Work kept me on night shifts for the past month. Now that it’s over, I’m trying to shift back to a normal sleep schedule. It’s… not smooth.

I’ve been attempting this for weeks. I tried delaying my bedtime with caffeine. The first night, I stayed up until midnight. Felt okay. Then the next day, I slipped back—fell asleep too early, woke up in the middle of the night. My body just defaults to night-shift mode, I guess.

Today is day two of trying harder. Last night, I made it to bed by 11:30 PM. Woke up at 1:30 AM and couldn’t fall back asleep. It’s 2 AM now. I’ll try to nap for a bit before my 6:30 AM alarm, but I doubt it’ll work. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
